Total closure of Buffalo Speedway at Southwest Freeway needed to complete work sooner
 
HOUSTON - In an effort to accelerate the US 59 Southwest Freeway frontage road reconstruction project, the Texas Department of Transportation has agreed to provide an incentive to the contractor to complete the project ahead of schedule.

Public Meeting Notice: Upper Kirby Mobility Improvement Plan Update

The Upper Kirby Management District, in coordination with the Upper Kirby Redevelopment Authority, will be hosting a public meeting to discuss the 2014 Upper Kirby Mobility Improvement Plan on March 25th at 6:00 p.m. at 3015 Richmond Avenue, Houston, Texas. The purpose of the meeting will be to discuss the conceptual development and implementation of Upper Kirby's pedestrian and transit related infrastructure.

Upper Kirby Construction: Westheimer Demolition Begins

Westheimer Paving, Drainage and  Streetscape Improvements Project:
 
Utility work on Westheimer between Buffalo Speedway and Kirby began last week with the initial traffic control setup at Buffalo Speedway. Though rain over the weekend stalled the initial setup until Monday, crews were able to make good progress on pavement demolition through the week.

Upper Kirby Construction: Westheimer Utility Relocation West of Kirby: Traffic Control in Place at Buffalo March 15 (story continued)

Westheimer Paving, Drainage and  Streetscape Improvements Project:
 
The effort to continue moving west with utility infrastructure will begin initial mobilization on Saturday. Texas Sterling Construction will be looking to begin installing traffic control on the south side of Westheimer at Buffalo Speedway on Saturday, March 15th. This initial phase will stretch approximately from the west side of Buffalo Speedway approximately to River Oaks Boulevard.
