Roadway Infrastructure and Streetscape Improvement

Westheimer Drainage System Improvements East
Shepherd to Kirby

This project includes the installation of new storm, water and sanitary sewer capacity and associated infrastructure as well as overhead utility relocation and pedestrian streetscape improvements. The roadway will be completely reconstructed in concrete and pedestrian amenities will include significantly widened sidewalks, pedestrian scale lighting and furniture and new street trees and landscaping.

Status: Utility relocation completed April 2014. Roadway improvements substantially completed February 2016. Final completion pending private utility completion and overhead pole removal.

Westheimer Drainage System Improvements West
Kirby to Buffalo Speedway

This project will continue the scope of Westheimer between Shepherd and Kirby west to Buffalo Speedway.

Status: Utility relocation completed summer 2014. Roadway improvements underway.

Bissonnet Roadway Reconstruction
Buffalo Speedway to Kirby

This project involves drainage, water and sanitary system improvements and associated infrastructure as well as complete concrete roadway reconstruction, overhead utility relocations and comprehensive pedestrian improvements. The project uses the existing street profile and does not include any widening or addition of lanes. The median will be preserved throughout construction.

Status: Utility relocation complete. Roadway work began summer 2016 and was halted in October 2016 due to contractor dispute and subsequent termination. The remainder of the project will be rebid for construction beginning summer 2017.
